At Cookie's on Upper Red Lake you can
experience fishing the way it was meant to be; in the quiet,
relaxing setting of the far North. We offer comfortable cabins for
rent year round, and some of the most full-featured ice houses on
Red Lake. Come for a weekend or stay for a week long fishing trip,
it's up to you.
Cookie and Kellie have lived in Waskish on
Upper Red Lake since 2002, but Cookie has fished Upper
Red Lake since he was a little boy. His Great Grandfather Norman came
from Sweden with his family in the early 1900's and settled on
the shore of the Tamarack River in present day Waskish.
Cookie's grandmother Olga was born in that same settlement in the early 1910's. She lived
in Waskish for most of her life. Lake Norman, a small lake to the
South of Upper Red Lake that offers great duck hunting in the fall,
is named after his Great Grandparents.
