A short fishing report

Our computer crashed this spring,Were up and running again so I will try and give a recap.
This years opener had the most boats since walleye reopened I thought. The ealrly spring effected the fishing and the numbers were down. The tamarac river was much slower. Most of our guest this year have had a fish fry and some have t taken home there limits.
Last weekend Ryan and I did real well with ryan catching the biggest walleye of his life a 27 1/2 incher. Wow what a nice fish.
I had the pleasure of taking James and his son Brian fishing again this year. last year we battled the wind so it was a treat to have such nice weather and we did real well fishing with Brian landing a pike over 40 inches on his walleye set up.
Kellie and I went atfter crappie early inthe season and caught a couple but nothing like past years. Keith found a honey hole and land 9 with his buddy and said they saw atleast 100 caught out of the same area that day. It was a small spot along the shoreline in 3.8 feet of water. I fished there for a few minutes and landed a pike over 40 on my crappie gear. There was a window of a week where the pike were all on fire. A guy should of targeted them but I was busy catching walleyes. Our son Joe will be visiting this summmer so I will have him add some pics from the past year while he is here. I will be doing some prefishing this week for a guide job so stay tuned for further reports. cookie on upper red lake
